General Information

The Bruce County Blues Society (BCB) founded in and based out of Kincardine since March 2006. We have around 200 members, one of the largest Blues Societies in Ontario and definitely one of the busiest. We are an Affiliate of The Blues Foundation. We are a non-profit organization. We operate with an elected executive. The BCB has 5 mandates with a focus in 3 major areas. Our primary mandate is to provide our members and the community with live Blues music with a special attention to promoting local talent, young/new talent and headlining national & international bands. Another major mandate deals with Blues music educationals. Our Blues in the Schools (BITS) is a program where we pay for professional Musicians to go into Bruce County elementary and high school auditoriums and classrooms to teach the history of Blues music and promote, preserve and perpetuate the culture, art and heritage of Blues music. Occasionally there has been small group hands-on musical instruction. The other area of focus is fundraising. We have raised just over $30,000.00 (dollars) in the past 6 years for local causes and BITS.
